One dad. Twelve websites. Zero answers.

I'm Jonathan Haynes, a dad of two young kids who love soccer, based in Edmonds, WA. Last year, I helped start a new youth club team for my son from scratch. One of the first things I needed was a lighted field for evening practice — and I quickly discovered that finding one was absurdly difficult.

I ended up visiting 12 different city and parks department websites just trying to find available fields one town over. Every municipality had its own system, its own PDFs, its own phone number to call. Some had no information online at all. I couldn't believe that in 2025, there was no single place to search for a sports field the way you'd search for a restaurant or a hotel.

So I decided to build it myself.

What We're Building

Fields.live is the first comprehensive, searchable directory of athletic fields and sports facilities in the region. Every field has been individually cataloged with surface type, lighting, parking, restrooms, booking information, and satellite imagery — with coordinates verified against satellite views to point you to the actual parking lot entrance, not a random spot in the outfield.

We launched with deep coverage across Washington State and have expanded to include Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, and South Dakota — with more states coming.

What's Next

Finding a field is only half the problem. The other half is booking it — navigating different applications, insurance requirements, and phone tag with parks departments. My next goal is to streamline how people book fields, so more fields get used and more kids get to play.
